Tucson Casita Builders started where most good ideas do: at the kitchen table. In 2014, our founder, Marco Delgado, was helping his parents figure out what to do about his aging grandmother. She fiercely valued her independence but needed family nearby. A nursing home was out of the question. So Marco, who'd been working in residential construction since he was 18, sketched a plan on a napkin for a small casita in his parents' backyard in the Sam Hughes neighborhood.

That first casita took four months, a lot of trips to Pima County Development Services, and more than a few lessons about desert soil and setback requirements. But when his abuela moved in, the entire family changed. She had her own space, her own kitchen, her own garden. And she was 40 feet from the people who loved her.

Neighbors noticed. Then their neighbors noticed. Within a year, Marco had built three more casitas on the east side, each one a little better than the last. He partnered with his childhood friend, Daniel Reyes, a licensed architect who shared his vision of making ADU construction less intimidating for Tucson homeowners. Together they built a company around one simple belief: every family deserves the option to add living space to their property without the headaches, hidden costs, and bureaucratic nightmares that usually come with construction.

Twelve years later, we've built over 150 casitas and accessory dwelling units across Tucson, Oro Valley, Marana, and greater Pima County. We've navigated every zoning code, every soil condition, and every HOA restriction in the region. Our team has grown to include 28 full-time employees, but the philosophy hasn't changed: build it like you're building it for your own family.
